Prof Akosua K Darkwah is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Ghana and a former Director of the Center for Gender Studies and Advocacy (CEGENSA) at the University of Ghana. She holds a B.A in Psychology and Sociology from Vassar College and a doctorate degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been teaching in the Department of Sociology Department at the University of Ghana since 2002.
Her research focuses primarily on the ways in which global economic policies and practices reconfigure Ghanaian women's work. Over the last two decades, she has explored this question with various segments of Ghana's female working population; traders of global consumer goods, factory workers, domestic workers, oil sector workers and farmers. Her work is published in a range of scholarly outlets including Women's Studies International Forum, International Development Planning Review, Journal of Gender Studies, Contemporary Journal of African Studies, Journal of Contemporary African Studies and Feminist Africa.

Ria Devereux recently submitted and defended her PhD which focused on microplastics in rivers and estuaries case study:The Thames River at the University of East London. Previous to that, she did a masters in marine science and a project on microplastic abundance within Cnidaria and Ctenophores within the North Sea. Devereux has a strong interest in plastic pollution especially within marine and freshwater environments with research papers published within the area.
Katherine Duffy s a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the Adam Smith Business School. Her research interest lies broadly within consumer culture and explores two research domains: 1) sustainability and circularity 2) the digitalisation of consumption. Her approach is qualitative and interpretivist.
Her research is published in a range of international journals including Journal of Management Studies (FT50), Journal of Business Research, Consumption Markets and Culture, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Marketing Management and Gender Work and Organisation.
Beginning his career, as a salesman in 1985, Susil S Dungarwal, is one of the few, who has grown from the ‘Shop floor’ to the ‘Board room’ in the retail & shopping mall sector. His first two books as a part of the ‘Knowledge Series’ covering the entire retail sector prospects of India, were released by The Economic Times Intelligence Group (ETIG) titled Changing Gears – Retailing in India 2000–2001; the second edition of the same Knowledge series was published in 2002–03.
Through his career Devangshu Dutta has worked at ahead-of-the-curve initiatives. Beginning with broadcasting (All India Radio, 1986-1991), Devangshu commenced his career in the consumer sector in 1990 with the leading modern retail chain in India of that time, eventually heading the category that contributed one-third of the company’s sales. He then worked as part of the launch team of a 50:50 JV of an international fashion brand in marketing & distribution. Thereafter, he joined a small consulting firm at its earliest stage and contributed to its growth into the largest consulting firm in the retail and consumer products sector as a joint-venture with the leading global consulting firm in the sector. In 1999-2000 he co-founded an internet-based supply chain solutions business. Subsequently, Devangshu founded Third Eyesight (a specialist management consulting firm) in 2003 and co-founded PVC Partners (an early-stage venture acceleration firm) in 2007.
