Timberland Gets CNMI Sustainable Fashion Award for Circular Economy

Outdoor footwear major, Timberland, has won the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Award 2022 for the Circular Economy category for doing outstanding work demonstrating principles of the circular economy.

American manufacturer and retailer of outdoor footwear, Timberland, has won the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Award 2022 for the Circular Economy category. This award recognises the outstanding work of those fashion brands, suppliers, platforms and small-medium enterprises that are demonstrating principles of the circular economy.

  • The event was organised by the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) in collaboration with the United Nations Ethical Fashion Initiative, and with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the ITA- Agency and the Municipality of Milan.
  • The CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022, given out during Milano Fashion Week, featured and awarded personalities and other personalities who have emerged in the Italian and international fashion industry for their commitment to sustainability in its highest sense: vision, innovation, commitment to craftsmanship, inclusivity, circular economy, human rights and environmental justice.

The awards: For this year's Awards, the Ellen Macarthur Foundation partnered with CNMI to bring circular design for fashion to the very top of the Italian fashion industry’s creative agenda.

  • The curation of the Foundation’s dedicated Award for Circular Economy to celebrate leading examples of circular design, and the appointment of Dame Ellen MacArthur as chair of the jury - brought a circular economy lens to all award categories.
