In support of the commitment statements made by its partners within the apparel alliance - SAC and Textile Exchange - which established a target of 45% reduced GHG emissions from textile fibre and material production by 2030, ZDHC commissioned a study to identify action areas for the industry that can contribute to achieving this target.

ZDHC commissioned a study to identify action areas for the industry that can contribute to achieving the target of 45% reduced GHG emissions from textile fibre and material production by 2030. The study found that 6-8% of GHG emissions along the production of textiles are related to the production of textile chemicals.

CAI Reduces Cotton Crop Estimate by 8.31 Lakh Bales

The Cotton Association of India (CAI) has released its May estimate of the cotton crop for the season 2021–22 beginning from 1 October 2021. The association has further reduced its cotton crop estimate for the 2021–22 season by 8.31 lakh bales to 315.32 lakh bales of 170 kg each from its previous estimate of 323.63 lakh bales of 170 kg each.

The size of the investment is estimated at €400 million, and it is expected to create around 270 jobs in the area.
