The highlights

  • The trends for the new season Autumn/Winter 2023/24 have been derived from the motto of the 50th MFS: Furore.
  • This is reflected in five trend themes: turmoil and frenzy are evident in the 'Withstand' trend theme with very tactile, robust fabrics and oversized aesthetics.
  • The contrast is 'Meta Haze' and 'Winter Fantasies': the look is similarly extreme, similar to Maxi, but with a bright colour palette combining cosmic purple, bright pink and otherworldly turquoise with volatile, reflective fibres, gemstones and sequins.
  • The minimalism of heightened environmental awareness is shown in the 'Ecopolis' and 'Better Basics' themes with soft, natural stone, wood, sea and earth tones and innovative, plant-based materials.
  • The key crypto colours in the colour trends are bright sulphur yellow, intense lapis lazuli blue and an almost summery, loud turquoise.
  • Pink currently stands out as a favourite. In keeping with the 'Furore' theme, it combines impulsiveness, riotousness and juvenile passion.
  • Black and white with a third colour are clear and modern combinations.
  • Orange and red intensive tones contrast with natural cold and warm earth colours in greens and browns.
  • Also important is the colour spectrum of the universe in dark blues, blues, browns, purples and the cheerfully playful rainbow colour palette.
  • Another colour family are the natural, cheerful and powerful ochre tones, from more subtle variants in beige to dry corn and a wide variety of curry shades.

From the inspiring trend areas and a meaningful portfolio with Europe's most important weavers, design studios, denim mills, vertical sourcing suppliers and finishing companies for fabrics and accessories to top-class speakers in the lecture forums, the new area The Source and exciting partnerships such as with the Transformers Foundation to the trade fair party – that is Munich Fabric Start, that is unique.

Far furore means to arouse enthusiasm. But 'furore' also stands for frenzy and anger about all the things that are going on in the world right now. Outside as well as inside our common industry, which we don't want to close ourselves off to, but want to and will face up to. The expression describes exactly where we are at the moment: right in between.
