The Autumn Edition of Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics has opened today across 240,000 sqm at Shanghai's National Exhibition and Convention Center, with over 3,500 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions on the show floor. Organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd with the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT, and the China Textile Information Center, the fair runs until 27 August alongside Yarn Expo Autumn, CHIC and PH Value.
- Eight dedicated group pavilions strengthen performance-textile sourcing, including The Lycra Company pavilion whose downstream suppliers present stretch and comfort fibres with bio-derived options.
- Established country and region pavilions from Hong Kong, India, Italy (Italian Trade Agency and Milano Unica), Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Türkiye support international sourcing alongside the France Zone.
- Fringe sessions cover A/W 2027-28 trend forecasting, climate-adaptive textiles, sustainable production systems and a global trust chain panel on textile traceability.
INTERNATIONAL LINEUP: International participation has expanded this Autumn Edition, with fresh country origins and debut exhibitors adding to the pavilions already established at the fair. Seven newly represented countries and four first-time international exhibitors from the United States, Egypt, Japan and Nigeria are on the floor across separate halls, spanning accessories, cotton, modacrylic fibres and plastic recycling for buyers this edition.
- Seven new exhibiting countries have joined this edition, comprising Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, Malaysia, Nigeria, Norway, Sweden and Thailand, and broadening the sourcing origins visible to Shanghai buyers.
- Duraflex USA is showcasing plastic buckles and functional accessories at the Autumn Edition, joining as a first-time international exhibitor.
- The Egyptian Cotton Association is presenting premium cotton materials from Egypt to buyers at the fair, appearing for the first time in Shanghai.
- Kaneka from Japan is presenting two modacrylic fibres, Kanecaron for softness, durability and sustainable alternatives to eco-fur, and Protex engineered for flame-resistant standards.
- Starich Recycling Technology from Nigeria is specialising in advanced plastic recycling, marking a Nigerian debut appearance at the fair.
- The Accessories Vision zone under Fashion Forward is showcasing advanced accessory exhibitors including Notape International and Bostik alongside the fair's broader international lineup.
THE PERFORMANCE LINEUP: Exhibitors at The Cube this edition come from the United States, Switzerland, Norway and China, occupying stands within the Performance Textiles zone under the upgraded Functional Lab. Together with additional pavilion presence from The Lycra Company, these participants populate the Functional Lab display.
- Burlington USA is delivering durable barrier textiles for medical and cleanroom environments alongside cotton-free denim fabrics that combine fashion appeal with advanced functionality.
- EMS-Griltech Switzerland, a supplier of fibres for the paper-machine industry, is presenting high-performance synthetic fibres for advanced textile applications at the Functional Lab.
- Loxy AS Norway is presenting Loxy Rex reflective tape, Loxy Seal seam sealing tape and Loxy bonding films, all engineered to deliver waterproofing, visibility and durability.
- From China, Nesta, collaborating with Invista, is spotlighting Prutac high-performance nylon 66 designed for superior durability and skin-friendly comfort in premium activewear and next-to-skin garments.
- At The Lycra Company pavilion, downstream suppliers are highlighting Coolmax CloakFX, the new Lycra FiT400 and Renewable Lycra fibres for comfort, durability and bio-derived stretch applications.
BEYOND THE STANDS: Four fringe programme sessions run over the three-day edition alongside the Innovation and Digital Solutions Zone on the show floor, which carries the Textile Future pillar. Session themes span the A/W 2027-28 trend forecast, climate-adaptive developments, transitions in preferred production, and a rebuilding of the trust chain within China's textile industry through DNA, digital and AI-driven efficiency measures.
- Museative's seminar is presenting the three themes of A Quest for Essence at the scent-infused Intertextile Directions Trend Forum, with Kai Chow, Creative Director of Museative, leading Trend Forum Tours drawing samples from Beyond Denim, Functional Lab and Premium Wool Zone.
- The Climate-adaptive Textiles for a Changing Future session, co-organised by the Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel (HKRITA), features experts from BetterTex, Lycra and Nice Dyeing exploring climate-adaptive fibre and fabric developments.
- Transitioning to Sustainable Preferred Production Systems, co-organised by Textile Exchange, brings together experts from Unifi, Birla Cellulose, Circ Inc, SynMetabio Technology (Hangzhou) and Fujian Cyclone Technology to discuss sustainability initiatives within China and across the wider industry.
- The From Source to End panel, in partnership with a&s, convenes Donghua University, Coats Digital, Haelixa and Oeko-Tex to present a trust chain construction pathway covering DNA physical traceability, AI efficiency standards and digital compliance certification.
- The Pet Boutique is making its first Autumn Edition appearance after debuting at the Spring Edition, extending functional lifestyle applications to stylish and comfortable apparel solutions for pets.
