Tapan Sharma

Tapan Sharma is a senior officer associated with the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. He has been closely involved in handloom product development, design innovation, revival of traditional weaving techniques and contemporary product development. His work focuses on connecting traditional textile knowledge with modern design, new materials, emerging markets and livelihood opportunities for weavers and artisans.

He has worked on several initiatives involving product innovation, natural fibres, recycling, traditional techniques and the contemporary re-engineering of heritage textiles.
