Oeko-Tex Updates Applicable Test Criteria and Limit Values for Range of Certifications

The Oeko-Tex Association has updated its various applicable test criteria, limit values and requirements for its range of certifications and labels for the textile and leather industry.

  • The limit values are relevant for Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Organic Cotton, Leather Standard And Eco Passport.
  • After a three-month transition period, the new limit values will become binding for all certifications on 1 April 2025.

In keeping with its annual policy, Oeko-Tex Association has updated the various applicable test criteria, limit values and requirements for its range of certifications and labels.

  • The limit values are relevant for Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Organic Cotton, Leather Standard and Eco Passport.
  • The limit values come into effect on 1 April 2025, after a three-month transition period.
  • In 2025, Oeko-Tex will continue to monitor various substances based on the latest scientific findings and conformity with relevant specifications.
  • While a whole lot of new chemicals and pesticides have been placed “under observation”, all diisocyanates have been removed from under observation for Eco Passport and will not be taken up as restricted substances.
