ITME 2022 Shows India at Par with Any Global Giant in Organising Mega Events

The just concluded eleventh edition of the India International Textile Machinery Expo held at Noida from 8-13 December showcased India's huge potential as a sourcing hub for textile technology and engineering.

Long Story, Cut Short
  • India ITME has traditionally been a key platform for the textile engineering industry to showcase and promote its technology and innovations.
  • Major emphasis was given to automation, resource conservation, recycling, smart manufacturing and new alternative technologies.
  • More than 80,000 visitors from 59 countries, 1000+ exhibitors with 1600+ machines on the show, and 46 new product launches clearly indicate the grand success of this international exhibition held in India.

After a long gap of six years, the India ITME Society organised its mega exhibition India ITME 2022. This was an eagerly awaited and highly anticipated event, being held for the first time in North India at the world class venue of IEML, Greater Noida spread across 235,000 sq m.

India ITME has traditionally been a key platform for the textile engineering industry to showcase and promote its technology and innovations, while the textiles industry looks forward to understanding the future possibilities from investment perspective and explore the opportunities to adopt these technologies.

Apart from the exhibition, a plethora of programmes, workshops, symposiums were organised by ITME Society which added a very special flavour to the exhibition.

More than 80,000 visitors from 59 countries, 1000+ exhibitors with 1600+ machines on the show, and 46 new product launches made it as a one-stop platform for the engineering solutions and technical technology for the textile industry, servicing the whole of Indian textile industry and building the 'India' brand.

My overall impression about the ITME 2022:.

  1. The exhibition venue IEML was excellent in all respect, the infrastructure had been wonderful. It was nothing lesser than any of the European exhibition venues at Milan, Barcelona or Frankfurt. Six visitor entry gates, an ample parking area, clear signs for directions, designated food court arena, and enough toilets made it easy for the visitors.
  2. The overall organisation of the exhibition was immaculate, thanks to the India ITME team which worked 24X7 for the last few weeks. Right from the registration process followed by clear pathways to the different halls dedicated to spinning, weaving & knitting, processing and others with well laid out booths. Everything looked in order.
  3. The symposiums organised parallel to the show were on relevant topics such as sustainability, smart manufacturing, composites for technical textiles and circularity in textiles. All the panels had eminent speakers from across the world.
  4. The CEO Conclave was organised for conducting interactions between the government functionaries and the industry on contemporary issues. The ITME Society’s Technology Awards function was organised for recognising and felicitating innovative companies in different categories. The entertainment show organised on the penultimate day for the exhibitors and invitees had been very entertaining, particularly the wonderful musical fashion show.
  5. More than 80,000 visitors from 59 countries, 1000+ exhibitors with 1600+ machines on the show, and 46 new product launches clearly indicate the grand success of this international exhibition held in India.
  6. In the exhibition, major emphasis was given to automation, resource conservation, recycling, smart manufacturing and new alternative technologies. Some exhibitors showcased new technologies prior to the ITMA 2023 show slated for next year in June 2023.
  7. Many new machines were launched, some of them being Autoconer Winders (LMW, Savio), Airjet Spinning (LMW, Saurer), Intelligent Card & new Comber (Truetzschler), High speed Airjet and Rapier Weaving machines (Tsudokoma and Picanol), Indigenous Sampling solution and high tech Sampling machine (Rabatex), Multilayer Stenter, Open Width Knits Compactor and Knits Singeing (Yamuna), Industrial digital printer (Colorjet), High precision Rotary Printing machine (Embee) and Multilevel, Multiproduct storage automation (Sieger).

The grand success of this exhibition proves beyond point that India is on the go and at par with any global giant in organising such mega events. The displays of advanced technologies at the India ITME exhibition has clearly indicated that this decade definitely belongs to India. It has been proven that in the textile manufacturing and textile machinery segment India has finally arrived now as a new global leader.

Union Textile Minister Piyush Goyal said in a message that the eleventh edition of this mega flagship event would serve as a "milestone for the textiles and engineering industry in India.
