SHANGHAI, CHINA: Taking place 11 – 13 March 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, Yarn Expo Spring 2026 is set to build on the exceptional success of the 2025 edition, which attracted nearly 24,000 visitors from 123 countries and regions. The show set a record with over 560 exhibitors showcasing their latest innovations. Notably, regenerated fibres and yarns drew the highest interest among visitors, with 57% sourcing in that category. Reflecting growing industry momentum, Yarn Expo Spring 2026 will continue to serve as a key global platform for driving sustainable development within the yarn and fibre sectors.

Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, commented: “The remarkable business results and feedback from our previous edition demonstrates the industry's unwavering commitment to sustainable innovation. As we approach Yarn Expo Spring 2026, we are witnessing a further convergence of market demand, technological advancement, and environmental responsibility. The show's position as Asia's premier yarn and fibre platform has never been stronger, and we anticipate another global showcase of cutting-edge solutions, as the industry accelerates its vital work towards a greener future.”

The global sustainable yarn market is poised for significant expansion, with its value expected to grow from approximately USD 5.2 billion in 2026 to around USD 10.1 billion by 2033, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 7.6%. This growth is driven by rising consumer demand for eco-friendly textiles, stricter environmental regulations, and advances in sustainable fibre technologies. Natural plant-based yarns like cotton, linen, hemp, and bamboo maintain the largest market share by volume, highlighting continued preference for renewable and biodegradable materials. These market dynamics underscore the textile industry’s ongoing shift towards sustainability, and with Yarn Expo Spring 2026 positioned concurrently with Intertextile Apparel and other major textile fairs, it will be a vital platform to connect eco-conscious innovators, suppliers, and buyers.

Reflecting the show’s ongoing focus on sustainability and eco-friendly textiles, SM Ameer, Director of Din Industries, Pakistan, shared his experience as an exhibitor at the 2025 edition: “We specialise in manufacturing a variety of yarns, including 100% cotton blends, and synthetic options. We even offer fancy yarns for knitting and weaving. Sustainability is a key focus for us; we work with natural, regenerated, and recycled fibres. At this fair, we've encountered many more buyers than we expected, with strong interest from France, Indonesia and Türkiye.”

Driving the industry’s sustainable transformation and innovation
Reflecting the diversity and quality found across product categories – from chemical fibres to cotton yarns, fancy yarns, linen, silk, and wool – next year’s fair will bring added focus to the latest industry innovations through its comprehensive fringe programme. Key events such as the China Fibers Fashion Trends Show, China Fibers and Yarns Fashion Trends, the Textile Materials Innovation Forum, and the Enterprise Product Launch will offer visitors valuable insights into the latest industry trends, technological breakthroughs, and sustainable solutions, reinforcing the fair’s pivotal role as a platform for advancing innovation in the yarn and fibre sectors.

Wenchao Ma, Head of Research & Development at Dezhou Shangkai Tex Co Ltd, reflected on the value of visiting last year’s fair and fringe events: “We are participating at Yarn Expo Spring to better understand the latest trends in the textile industry. We visited many leading companies who brought their featured products, such as BioFleax staple fibre, and we had the opportunity to observe new product launches at innovative forums. Through in-depth exchanges with industry players, the fair also guides our company's future innovation and development.”
