Karachi, Pakistan: AGI Denim announces a $30 million investment in the first phase of its new LEED Platinum-certified Apparel Park. The facilities will feature the most responsible manufacturing practices and will be capable of producing new apparel categories in addition to the jeans the company is known for, such as non-denim woven bottoms.

AGI Denim's Apparel Park will be a cut-to-pack composite unit with a capacity of twenty thousand units per day. In phase 2, the company will build and integrate a state-of-the-art laundry with a capacity of twenty thousand units and an additional sewing capacity of ten thousand units per day.

AGI Denim has been executing various transformative projects, including an end-to-end LEED-certified value chain with facilities like a LEED spinning mill, a LEED denim mill, a LEED Platinum garment unit, and the new Apparel Park.

The focus of the Apparel Park will be on responsible manufacturing, introducing new product categories, and an inclusive and diverse workforce. Developments in areas including green energy, manufacturing excellence, and sustainable infrastructure are part of the Apparel Park's construction.

The Apparel Park will aim to create a responsible manufacturing ecosystem that will operate on 25% renewable energy, like solar panels that move with the sun to reduce reliance on traditional energy and fossil fuels. This will help the company to reduce its carbon emissions on a facility level.

For water conservation, AGI Denim plans to incorporate rainwater harvesting and a greywater recycling system in the facility. The recycled water will be further used for domestic purposes like plantation.

The company will install low-energy LED lighting, modern ventilation systems, and design infrastructure to allow ample natural light through large windows, enhancing utility efficiency and improving ambient temperature. As part of its plans, the company also aims to go paperless and eventually eliminate the usage and wastage of paper.

With the industry's rapid adoption of Industry 4.0 systems, the Apparel Park will have an automated sewing hanger system to improve efficiencies and reduce staffing. It also includes fully automatic sewing machines, contributing to energy-efficient manufacturing practices.

To maintain a streamlined workflow, AGI Denim's Apparel Park infrastructure is designed to promote a production flow where every step of the manufacturing process will transition smoothly from one to the next. To support this, each garment will be barcoded for product-level traceability.

AGI Denim is fully committed to embracing circularity when it comes to responsible materials, processes and minimizing wastage. A post-industrial waste sorting and collection system will be implemented at the Apparel Park to ensure a smooth mechanical recycling workflow.

AGI Denim envisions a sustainable Apparel Park where 10% of the space will be designated for green areas. Green spaces will also be integrated within the manufacturing facilities, emphasizing AGI Denim's commitment to fostering a nature-conscious manufacturing environment.

AGI Denim has been making strides in fostering an inclusive workforce. The Apparel Park will have a dedicated floor with a 70% female workforce. This initiative aims to empower women, promote gender equality, and create an environment where they can excel professionally.

Additionally, AGI Denim plans to implement digital payments for all workers, ensuring efficiency and transparency in their payment system. They aim to provide comprehensive benefits such as micro-loans and healthcare services through digital platforms. Furthermore, the company has arranged to support individuals with special needs and transgender individuals, ensuring equal working opportunities for everyone.
