MONTRÉAL AND WINSTON-SALEM: Gildan Activewear Inc and HanesBrands Inc Wednesday announced that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement under which Gildan will acquire HanesBrands. This transaction implies an equity value of approximately $2.2 billion and an enterprise value2 of approximately $4.4 billion for HanesBrands, based on the closing price of Gildan common stock on August 11, 2025.
