MUMBAI, INDIA: Archana Jaju's Spring Summer '26 collection draws inspiration from the colours and landscapes of a European summer. The wildflower fields of Provence, the sun-drenched rivieras of the Amalfi coast, and the quiet beauty of the countryside are translated into hand- painted Kalamkari and intricate embroidery on handwoven silks, bringing European flora to life through one of India's most celebrated textile traditions.

Each piece features hand-painted Kalamkari motifs of Tuscan poppies, coastal bougainvillea, and countryside wildflowers paired with intricate hand embroidery and delicate embellishments to add tactile elements of grace. The collection is coloured through natural dyes in a palette of warm beige, deep fuchsia, and warm red, with hand-woven lightweight silk as its canvas. Silhouettes are intentionally easy and fluid: kurta sets, capes, and separates designed for effortless layering.

Speaking about the collection, designer Archana Jaju says, "Kalamkari has always been my way of telling stories about the land, the craft, and about the people who make it. With this collection, I wanted to see what happened when those stories met a different landscape entirely. Europe gave me the flowers, the light and the colours of a countryside in bloom. India gave me the hand, the thread, and the tradition to preserve this moment in time. The result is something I hope feels like both and like neither. Effortless, intentional, and entirely alive."

At its core, the collection is an exploration of contrast and continuity—where distant inspirations are translated through deeply rooted techniques. It comes together in pieces that feel effortless yet considered, allowing craft, colour, and materiality to speak with quiet confidence.
