The Fourth Environmental Assessment of the Australian Cotton Industry has made 16 new recommendations which would be assessed over ten years. It has also noted considerable progress made on the recommendations of the earlier assessment that was conducted in 2012.
Strategic Plan 2023–2028 is Cotton Australia’s five-year collaborative plan to advance the cotton industry, identify opportunities for improvement that drive progress and create value for all stakeholders.
The Australian cotton industry has made remarkable progress in the last 25 years, with its water consumption dropping by half. The last year also witnessed a record harvest of 5.6 million bales valued at a record $4.6 billion.
