The Union Minister of State for Textiles, in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha on Thursday, informed that the allocation of textiles sector in the 2023–24 budget was ₹43,893.4 million. This is higher than the revised estinate (RE) of 2022–23 which was ₹35,796.1 million.

The union government on Friday announced that the seven mega textile parks under the ₹44,450 million -PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) scheme will be set up in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
