Gurugram, India: Neeman’s, a brand emerging as the pioneer of sustainable footwear in India, today announced the launch of their new sneaker range made from Tencel Lyocell fibers, derived from natural raw material wood sources like eucalyptus tree. The wood for Tencel fiber is sourced from sustainably managed forests, which are FSC and PEFC certified. The Tree Sneakers is dedicated to endless hours on the wearer’s feet to keep them comfortable for their daily routine.
The highly sustainable sneakers instil an elevated experience with classic silhouette designs and highly moisture-absorbing fabric. The extremely lightweight and flexible footwear infuses a gentle sensation on the skin, leaving its wearer with a feeling of comfort and care. Additionally, owing to its properties the footwear regulates the absorption and release of moisture with effortless ease.

It was time to augur some positive action towards sustainable production and manufacturing. This was the premise for our new range of sneakers and why we went through an arduous process of research on how we can contribute towards protecting our biodiversity.”

Neeman’s new collection furthers their promise of “Change The Norm”. The fabric used in the making of the shoes contains fibres, which are derived from natural raw material wood coming from sustainably managed sources. The wood for the fiber, which includes Eucalyptus trees, comes from regions, which ensure no ancient or endangered sources are used and causes no harm to the bio-diversity. The fiber is then produced using an award winning closed loop production process, which reuses close to 100% of the solvents needed for processing. This powers an end fabric that is highly suitable for footwear applications. The Tree Sneakers come in remarkable packaging with plantable paper leaflets and a product description tag that gives the customers the thought process behind the product/material.
With the launch of the new range, Neeman’s has also undertaken a plantation initiative under which trees will be planted and cared for until they become self-sustaining. This project begins in Maharashtra and the brand will keep identifying areas that are in need of a green revolution and go where their sustainable footwear will take them!
