Tashkent, Uzbekistan: For the first time in the history of Uzbekistan’s local business landscape, a domestic company has acquired an internationally recognized textile brand with over 140 years of history and a well-established export network across more than 40 countries. This milestone marks a significant step in developing local production capacities aimed at entering the global market.
Based in the Bukhara region, Kamalak Shabnam Teks LLC is implementing a major investment project to produce high-quality technical and home textiles made from polyester and polyamide. These products are intended for use in the automotive, defense, aviation, medical, and household sectors.
A key feature of the project is the full relocation of the assets of the German company Curt Bauer to the Republic of Uzbekistan. As a result, Kamalak Shabnam Teks has acquired exclusive ownership rights to the Curt Bauer brand within the territory of Uzbekistan.
The project is set to create 785 new jobs and introduce Uzbekistan to German textile engineering and technological know-how. This marks a pivotal step in boosting the country’s industrial capacity and expanding its export potential on international markets.
The initiative fully aligns with Uzbekistan’s strategic objectives to promote high-tech processing of raw materials, attract foreign direct investment, and create sustainable employment across regions.
Background: Established in 1882 in Saxony, Germany, Curt Bauer has been renowned for its premium home textiles, technical fabrics, and special damask textiles for West African markets. The company is distinguished by its refined design, exceptional production quality, and advanced textile engineering.
