ZARQA, JORDAN: United Creations, Alpine Group’s apparel manufacturing hub in Jordan, has partnered with IrisGuard to become the first company in Jordan to onboard the EyePay Network, as a groundbreaking iris recognition payroll system that is raising the bar for transparency and worker empowerment across the country.
Historically in Jordan, payroll has been a challenge for both employers and workers. The apparel sector, in particular, relies heavily on a large migrant workforce, many of whom lack access to bank accounts and remain unbanked. Wage payments have traditionally been cash-based, exposing workers to risks such as wage theft, delayed payments, and high transaction fees, while creating administrative complexity and limited transparency for employers.
United Creations is tackling these barriers head-on with the rollout of EyePay Network by IrisGuard. With just a simple iris scan, employees can securely access their wages instantly, without the need for a bank account, PIN, or physical ID. This breakthrough is digitising payroll in a way that makes salary distribution more secure, efficient, and accountable.
United Creations is one of Jordan’s largest apparel manufacturers, operating three WRAP Gold certified facilities which produce approximately 27 million garments annually for leading global brands, including Lululemon, Under Armour and American Eagle.
For the 5,800+ team employed by United Creations, the impact of the iris-based payment system is already tangible. As of November 2025, 74% of production floor employees had adopted EyePay, with full adoption targeted by year-end.
“This initiative is about much more than payroll,” said Clare Woodford, VP, Sustainability and Impact at Alpine Group. “EyePay Network empowers our team members with secure and reliable access to their wages, reducing the vulnerabilities of being unbanked and building greater financial inclusion across our workforce. At the same time, it enhances transparency and accountability in how we manage payroll, underscoring our commitment to worker well-being and responsible business practices, and setting a new benchmark for the wider apparel industry.”
Setting a New Standard
In a first-of-its-kind deployment, IrisGuard, in partnership with Cairo Amman Bank (CAB) Jordan, successfully launched its national-scale biometric cash salary payment network for unbanked workers in Jordan. Until now, EyePay technology has been primarily used to disburse humanitarian aid in conflict zones, enabling secure and traceable payments to vulnerable populations. Through its partnership with CAB, United Creations became EyePay Network’s first private sector customer, marking a major milestone in extending this proven technology to the apparel industry.
In an industry where transparency and traceability are increasingly demanded by global brand partners and regulators, introducing biometric payroll technology represents a proactive step toward fair and inclusive treatment of workers, in line with International Labour Organization (ILO) and Better Work standards.
Imad Malhas, Founder and Managing Director, IrisGuard, said: “The EyePay Network is transforming financial access at the source. By eliminating the need for individual bank accounts and physical IDs, we are protecting vulnerable workers while enabling payroll to operate at scale securely and efficiently. Partnering with United Creations & CAB demonstrates how biometric innovation can raise standards across the apparel sector, driving greater transparency and trust for workers, employers, and global brand partners alike.”
Building on this success, United Creations has further expanded financial access by partnering with Jordan Post, the countries national post service to provide on-site salary disbursement and remittance services directly within its factory and dormitory locations. This new arrangement allows employees to receive their wages and transfer money to their families without leaving the workplace, benefiting from competitive exchange rates, lower remittance fees, and enhanced safety and convenience.
Ehab Mohi, Vice Chairman of United Creations, added: “This partnership marks a defining moment for United Creations. By integrating the EyePay Network into our operations, we’re not only improving how we manage payroll but fundamentally reshaping the way we support and empower our workforce. This innovation gives our employees greater security and dignity while enabling us to build a more transparent, efficient, and trusted business. It’s a transformation that will strengthen our foundation for years to come.”
