Newark, U.S.: As part of their display at the highly anticipated trade show, the Sorona booth themed “Be Curious” features a first-of-its-kind capsule collection of 20 mens and womens designs made with 37 percent bio-based Sorona polymer. Mannequins made from 100 percent bio-based CovationBio PDO Susterra model the forward-thinking athleisure, outdoor, and lifestyle looks.

Swatches of seven fabrics recognized by this year’s ISPO Textrends Awards are being unveiled alongside samples from brands that have already incorporated Sorona polymer into their collections. The innovative booth, which embraces concepts for the future of fashion, also showcases an AI generated background graphic inspired by the brand’s plant-based ingredient and values.

Working closely with Italian designer Isabella Storani the CovationBio Sorona team created a 20 piece custom capsule collection that exhibits the versatility and performance capabilities of Sorona polymer. Seven styles from the collection feature fabrics entirely made from Sorona polymer alongside 13 pieces showcasing the multitude of ways the plant-based polymer can be blended with other fiber types. All together, the looks offer a real-life example of how fabrics made with Sorona polymer have dimensional stability, long-lasting stretch recovery, softness, and wicking for a quick-drying effect.

The collection also shows the possibilities for how Sorona polymer can create circularity in the industry while replacing traditional fossil fuel-based fibers like spandex, nylon, and polyester. In-house lab-scale tests conducted by the CovationBio Sorona team have yielded positive results for mechanical recycling. Thinking holistically about replacing fossil fuel-based materials, the CovationBio team is displaying the collection on Genesis mannequins made out of 100 percent bio-based CovationBio PDO Susterra.

Also in the booth this year are seven fabrics featuring Sorona polymer recognized by the ISPO Textrends Awards in the “Top 10” and “Selection” categories for various layers and finishes. Swatches of these fabrics are being unveiled within the Sorona booth and in the Textrends area.

With the spirit of progress and curiosity in mind, the CovationBio team tapped the capabilities of AI to create a graphic background representing the brand’s core values and key words including “Circularity, Sustainability, Corn”. Curved lines loosely mimic the CovationBio logo and molecular structure of Sorona polymer with a nod to the brand’s base-ingredient (an artistic take on corn fields in the wind).
