Barqueiros, Portugal: Starting this Monday, in Germany another edition of ISPO MUNICH, the world's largest fair of sporting goods which for several years has the Impetus Group as one of the main Portuguese exhibitors.
Since the last physical edition in 2020, the textile sector has seen great technological advances at the level of materials, finishes and processes with a great focus on sustainability, this being one of the main concerns of the company from Barqueiros.
New technical products and innovative solutions which aim to improve performance and comfort in sports while maintaining a constant concern for the customer and the preservation of the planet are some of the main innovations that the Impetus Group will present. The highlight goes to the athleisure products, developed with the sports practice in mind, that combine the seamless technology "double jersey", in which we are pioneers in Portugal.
This year we present technical and innovative products developed with alternative raw materials to conventional ones and using the sustainable production processes of our unique vertical structure, which allows us total control of processes, from research and design, to production and logistics.
The focus on materials with a lower environmental impact is a priority for the Group, which has established strategic partnerships in various areas from fibres such as Tencel™ and Good Earth Cotton (GEC), recycled linen or even fibres produced with the industrial waste from its own production, to the application of innovative colouring processes such as Colorifix which uses microorganisms to replace the chemicals used in dyeing.
Traceability and transparency are also two areas in which the Group is involved through collaboration and the adoption of Fibretrace technology which allows its value chain to be mapped making it visible to the consumer so that they are aware of who was involved in the production of their garment.
The presence in one of the biggest events of the B2B sector reinforces the work that has been developed by the Impetus Group in terms of research, know-how and technological evolution. It also allows the national company to get closer to partners and clients from all over the world.
IMPETUS GROUP: In 1973, Emília and Alberto Figueiredo created a small textile business. Today, and just a few decades later, the IMPETUS Group has become one of the leading companies in the textile sector worldwide. Six people, four machines and a family dream have become the launching pad for an industrial and commercial presence with a truly global dimension. Driven by almost half a century of experience and a commitment to customers and the community, the IMPETUS management team remains solidly based on a family base, with a new generation that continues to believe in the same values.
Today, the brand is proud to have one of the most complete vertically integrated structures in Europe, supported by several departments, which include R&D and Logistics. The improvement of this structure guarantees flexibility and capacity to offer customers a service of the highest quality and adjusted to their needs. Although Impetus started by producing only underwear and loungewear, the experience and know-how they have acquired over the years, together with the significant investment in new technologies, allowed them to expand the portfolio to a wide range of technical products, such as clothing work and sports, betting on underwear with and without sewing.
