NEW YORK, U.S.: This Black Friday, Everlane is giving back through its 12th annual Black Friday Fund, supporting Good Growth and their Regenerative Cashmere Initiative in Mongolia. The brand is turning the spotlight on one of its most prized materials: cashmere. Crafted from Good Cashmere Standard–certified fibers and high-quality recycled cashmere, Everlane’s approach reflects its commitment to ‘Clean Luxury. Better for You.’

Unlike fast fashion, which drives overgrazing and damages delicate ecosystems, Everlane invests in responsibly sourced cashmere - protecting biodiversity, supporting herding communities, and safeguarding long-term availability. Highly resource-intensive to produce, cashmere requires careful grazing and fiber collection. By relying on a majority of high-quality recycled cashmere, Everlane ensures its pieces are soft, durable, and responsibly made, avoiding shortcuts or unsustainable practices.

“Cashmere is one of our most beloved and intensive materials to produce, and we know its quality depends on healthy grasslands and thriving herding communities,” says Alfred Chang, CEO of Everlane. “By investing in regenerative grazing, we’re protecting the source of our cashmere so we can continue delivering the soft, durable, and responsibly made pieces our customers love—pieces they can feel good about wearing.”

Cashmere production depends on Mongolia’s delicate grasslands, where overgrazing threatens both the landscapes that sustain the fiber and the livelihoods of herding families. Everlane’s 12th annual Black Friday Fund is contributing $50,000 to support Good Growth’s Regenerative Cashmere Initiative, launching regenerative grazing programs in partnership with local communities and Hustai National Park. The programs benefit over 40 herder families, 8,000 goats, and 113,000 acres of grassland. By using recycled fibers alongside certified sources, Everlane reduces pressure on the land and reduces carbon emissions while maintaining premium quality. The initiative combines modern monitoring tools with traditional land stewardship to restore balance to fragile ecosystems and stabilize local incomes.

Since 2014, Everlane has used the Black Friday Fund to turn a traditionally consumer-focused day into an opportunity to give back, donating more than $1.57 million to environmental and social impact projects worldwide. Through initiatives like this, Everlane continues to show that true luxury gives back—to people, to places, and to the planet that makes it possible.

“Customers already know us for our innovative use of recycled cashmere and responsible investment in Good Cashmere Standard certified cashmere,” says Katina Boutis, Sr. Director of Sustainability & Sourcing at Everlane. “This partnership builds on our Clean Luxury, Better for You promise to catalyze regenerative practices for the preservation and future of cashmere herding.”
