NEW DELHI, INDIA: In their Spring-Summer ‘26 collection, Estampa, designers Saaksha & Kinni use fashion as an homage to prints. Here, instinctive modern expression meets the fluidity of design to create a collection that is as fun as it is graceful.
Abstract paisley florals inspired by Kalamkari unfold like hand-drawn memories across the collection, organic and fluid in their celebration of imperfection. Ikat is revisited in a softer, almost painterly rhythm, while classic block prints are reimagined as structured yet playful stripes that balance spontaneity with precision. Tribal and Bandhani influences merge into bold symbolic motifs that feel raw and rhythmic, echoing ancestral narratives through a distinctly contemporary form. Kantha enters as a visual dialogue of layering, where block prints appear together in spirit, creating depth and an intimate, time-worn sensibility. The palette sharpens with graphic black and white scratch-like prints, adding contrast and sketched energy reminiscent of charcoal on fabric.
This season elevates intricate handwork through several signature techniques. Patchwork denim pieces, including a trench coat, shorts, and jeans, celebrate sustainable practice and the beauty of assemblage. A new fabric tassel technique transforms wastage into dynamic embellishment, adding movement and playful sensibility while honoring zero-waste principles. Meticulous hand micro pleating brings architectural dimension to dresses and skirts, creating texture through traditional craftsmanship, while three pre-draped saris offer contemporary ease with traditional silhouettes.
Speaking about the collection, Saaksha says, “Estampa is a collection that is intentionally tactile and considered. Kinni and I wanted to celebrate our traditional prints and make them accessible for the present. This collection is a reflection of the building blocks of who we are as designers.”
