Spinnova is unique from the outset. The raw material the company uses to create the fibre is the same pulp that's used for making paper. The wood comes from FSC and/or PEFC certified tree farms. The company treats the pulp only mechanically, to create something called micro fibrillated cellulose; the feedstock for the process.

Spinnova Raises €1.6 million for R&D Work from Business Finland, Venture into Composites and Nonwovens

Research and development of fibres in Finland has received a boost, with Business Finland granting €1.6 million to fibre manufacturer Spinnova. The project is meant to explore possibilities of fibre utilisation in new application areas and product segments such as composites and nonwovens.
