NORTH CAROLINA, US: AMI is launching a US version of its Textiles Recycling Expo at the Charlotte Convention Center, North Carolina on April 29–30, 2026. The exhibition and conference will build on the success of the debut event in Europe, bringing together the industry to address the pressing issue of textile waste, including the recycling of fabrics, clothing, footwear, fibers and non-wovens.
The first Textiles Recycling Expo took place in Brussels, Belgium on June 4-5, 2025, and has been widely acknowledged as a landmark event for the market. It attracted 126 exhibitors and 3,336 visitors from 67 countries, making it the largest-ever meeting focused on textiles recycling.
“We are very excited to bring the Textiles Recycling Expo to the USA”, said Zied Chetoui, Event Manager for the show. “We had discussions with numerous American attendees at our launch event in Europe and it’s clear that there’s a real need for a similar meeting place for the North American textiles recycling community to help foster dialogue and progress.”
Americans discard more than 10 million tons of textiles annually, according to industry estimates, with only a fraction currently being recycled. The US fashion and waste management sectors are under increasing pressure to grow recycling rates and reduce the volume of clothing and fabrics going to landfill. The Textiles Recycling Expo USA will address these challenges head-on, promoting information exchange, innovation and collaboration to create a more circular and sustainable future for the industry.
The event will feature an exhibition hall filled with leading suppliers of relevant technologies and services, plus an open conference theater hosting keynote presentations, panel discussions, and case studies. Sessions will explore critical topics such as regulatory developments, market trends, technical innovations, supply chain developments, and investment opportunities.
Andy Beevers, Events Director at AMI, explained: “We selected Charlotte as the location for the expo as the city and surrounding areas make up a major hub for textiles production, recycling and research. Plus the city has great transport connections and excellent exhibition facilities”.
Exhibitors at Textiles Recycling Expo USA can expect to connect with influential buyers and specifiers from across the supply chain, while visitors will have the opportunity to discover innovative technologies from an international array of suppliers as well as gaining invaluable industry insights in the conference theater.
AMI, the organizer of the Textiles Recycling Expo, has extensive experience of running successful tradeshows and conferences in the USA. They include the Plastics World Expos in Cleveland, OH, which have become the largest annual plastics industry event in North America and have a strong focus on recycling.
